Al-Balqa Governorate is located 28 km northwest of the capital, Amman, and forms a link between the two banks and neighboring countries, which is distinguished by its geography, location, and beautiful terrain, which contains the lowest spot in the world, as it reaches 422 meters below sea level. As well as on the mountains of a Its elevations are (1130) meters above sea level, and the governorate contains waterfalls, torrents, streams, springs, valleys, mountains, dams, and forests with an area of (21,800) dunums, and the area of the governorate is (1119) km2. Up to the Jordan River in the west, and the heritage city of Al-Salt is located in the middle of Al-Balqa Governorate surrounded by the peaks of the Al-Salt Mountains, and the city rises about (853) meters above sea level. What distinguishes it most is the markets, passages, and heritage buildings, which number (657) heritage buildings.
